About this project

The client dealing with maritime safety wanted to improve ship data collection, storage, and transfer. The customer was looking to build a unified solution to manage a large amount of data from Vessels (routes, maritime data, gasoline usage, etc). The challenge was to create a system that stores huge data sets from ships and ensures access to historical data.

How we made it

BCF was responsible for the design and implementation of a system for storing data from ships and fleets of ships. We assured the possibility of storing a large amount of information and its appropriate security ( data coming from fleets, multiple ships, many different clients). Our team enabled access to them through the satellite system and optimized the system under the limitations of this kind of communication. BCF prepared versioning and cataloging of information. We also implemented advanced security implemention for companies using the system. Our team assured continuous optimization and correction of the developed software.

What are the final effect

for the client?

We created a unified and secure system for storing information, which is protected from hacker attacks. The solution enables fast writing and reading of data for vessels. Real-time implementation and processing of data from ships, their versioning, storage, updating, and synchronization facilitate monitoring of important data from ships.

What was the benefits

In this project, we implemented a Data Lake solution for the collection of vessels data (Vessel Voyage Data Recorder data, vessel IoT sensors data). The system aggregates data on each Vessel and periodically transfers it through satellite systems to a central storage place. The system enables quick access to the collected data from vessel devicess and vessel operation centers for maritime companies.
